Artful Island Womens Retreat – Dance, Create, Breathe

womens retreat 2013

Womens Retreat September 19 – 23rd, 2013 Registration is now Closed for this Retreat

“The whole experience was five-star deluxe… I’m so happy I was part of this beautiful retreat!”

~Nicola, Santa Barbara, CA, July 2013 participant.

“When it was all over we’d each had a good taste of what it was like to feel nourished, whole, and happy. We’d danced, played, created, meditated, ate, and dreamed. We’d set specific commitments/intentions for do-able actions for our physical, mental, spiritual well-being. The retreat was long enough that I was able to go deeper into my meditation practice and also able to finish a couple of art projects. In the end, a reminder that often self-care for me, means giving that precious gift of time to me.  Thanks for sharing the magic, Bronwyn!”

~Maxine, Denman Island, BC, July 2013 Participant

How it all came about…

I’ve been planning and dreaming for nearly a year to bring you this vision of the most delicious women’s self-care retreat I could create. I am so excited to birth this dream and to invite you to my magical island for five days of serenity and renewal on all levels.

I adore bringing together circles of women for special times of healing and sacred play. For over a decade, I created and co-created women’s retreats which focused on dance. My Island Dance Retreats, Sacred Dance Retreats, and Goddess Weekends became special times of transformational work and play for hundreds of women over the years! As my life began to shift away from a full time focus on dance, I wanted – needed – to find ways to continue to work and play with circles of women… and so the idea of Artful Island Retreats came to be.

Sharing my gifts with the world…

Did I mention I am excited? Over the moon. Because I know this is one of the things I came to this gorgeous earth to do… bring together circles of women for soul-replenishing magic!!

You know our 9th Key to an Artful Life is Share Your Gifts with the World… and that is what I am doing in sharing these retreats. I am creating a most nurturing, magical, creative, and supportive space for you to come and play, come and learn, come and deeply replenish your feminine soul. For a few days, I will welcome you – wholeheartedly – into my magical, artful island world, and share with you the many gifts that make my day to day beautiful. Art-play. Self-reflection. Meditation. Yoga. Dance. Time in nature. Working with the Nine Keys to an Artful Life.

What you will experience…

A typical retreat day will begin with gentle meditation time in the yurt or garden, and setting our intentions for the day.

Next, delicious breakfast in the sunny dining room or maybe on the deck.

Then we’ll nurture our bodies with a yoga class or dance class. A second session in the morning will nurture our creativity with art journaling, or a mindfulness in nature photo or art walk.

After a leisurely lunch, take some time to yourself to rest, swim, explore the island, or indulge in  personal yoga practice in the yurt – whatever you’d like.

Our afternoon session will focus on exploring the 9 keys and creating a plan for bringing them into our lives. A short yoga or dance session grounds us before dinner.

Some nights, we’ll have after dinner activities, and some nights you’ll be free to rest, swim, journal, or enjoy the hot tub… then drift to sleep to the sound of the wind in the trees.

Wake to birdsong for another delicious day… not just a weekend, but a luxurious stretch of four days and four nights, plenty of time to relax, renew, and ground deeply in the experience.

What you will receive…

  • 4 days and 4 nights of relaxation and renewal, with all your needs taken care of.
  • Personal one-on-one attention and care – this exclusive retreat is limited to five women.
  • All your meals, lovingly prepared at Shanti House with organic, locally sourced ingredients (and the local food on the island in the summer is fantastic!) 4 dinners, 4 breakfasts, and 3 lunches.
  • Daily modules in meditation, self-care, art journaling, dance, mindfulness in nature, and exploration of the 9 Keys with Bronwyn, and daily yoga modules with special guest teachers!
  • Time for play, rest, and exploring the island.
  • Special outdoor activity (weather dependent) which might be a sunrise beach walk and gentle yoga on the beach, kayaking, hiking, a photo and art walk, trip to a neighboring island, evening beach fire and high-tide swim, art journaling in the garden or…
  • An artful goodie bag on arrival!
  • A solid and  self-care plan to take home with you – a personalized map for artful living to carry you through the rest of the year!

{have a question about the retreat? please email me!}

Do I need to be experienced in art, yoga, and dance to come to the retreat?

~No! This is a time to explore new things and be in beginner’s mind! All levels of experience are welcome, and will benefit! All our explorations will be multi-level, and the small size of the group insures you will have personal attention. The goal is to explore your own body and creativity, which can happen at any level. My specialty as a dance teacher is helping women of every age, shape, size, and level of experience to love and feel comfortable in their bodies.

If you think this retreat is for you, I encourage you to register promptly to avoid disappointment! We have only five spots for this retreat! **UPDATE Registration is now CLOSED**
